GOAL
Gateway to the Lake of the Ozarks the
Bagnell Dam Strip and its waterfront are unparalleled in location,
accessibility, availability and dynamics-offering what is the most
unique setting at the entire Lake of the Ozarks!
With the progress of the Bagnell Dam
Strip Association and its efforts to bring forth economic development
through the utilization of programs such as the Missouri Downtown
Economic Stimulus Act (MODESA) by year end 2008, the Bagnell Dam Strips
future is looking as though they are ready for business.
By implementing such incentives as
Neighborhood Improvement Districts, Tax Credits, and public grant
programs the "Strip" is setting the stage for existing
businesses and developers to locate in and have a competitive edge over
competing areas seeking development.
The area is really ripe for
redevelopment as the first characteristic identified clearly shows a
location that only the "Strip" can boast. Just off of Missouri
State Rt. 54 on Business 54 to the Bagnell Dam just east of the
intersection of HH or as locals call it Horseshoe Bend. The Horseshoe
Bend area is arguably the most highly developed residential area of Lake
of the Ozarks, also offering commercial development such as the Lodge of
the Four Seasons and numerous other businesses. The "Strip"
sets just to the East of this main intersection that also gives direct
access to the West side of the Lake of the Ozarks via the community
bridge. When considering all of these physical attributes the dynamics
of the "Strip" make it a heavy contender for the next wave of
growth.
Working with property owners and
businesses to create a continuous boardwalk along the waterfront will
help to create public access as it has never been before. Linking
property owners and businesses to one another will stimulate business
and create a development area that only the "Strip" can
provide.
The Bagnell Port Authority visions the
"Strip" as being the areas next great community. By seizing
the moment and pulling together our community can be recognized in the
near future as having pulled off one of the Lakes most prestigious
revitalizations of our 75 year history.
